CARMEL - As part of the Lilly Scholars Network Give Back INitiative, local Lilly Endowment Community Scholars will be helping with various aspects of the Unified Track and Field meet at Carmel High School.
Volunteers will assist with timing, measuring long jump, setting up, hurdles and other responsibilities.
The meet is scheduled for 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. April 26, at Carmel High School, 520 E. Main St.
Champions Together and Special Olympics have joined together in order to create Unified Track programs in high schools Unified track is a chance for athletes to see if they like the structure of sports and can be a springboard to the Special Olympics.
Volunteers are invited to sign up and assist at the meet. Volunteers participate with a group of Lilly Endowment Community Scholars, family, friends and community members.
Please note that video and photos will be taken at the event and they will be shared through an e-newsletter, website and social media channels. Some photos/videos may be submitted to the local press. By signing up, volunteers agree to allow the Lilly Scholars Network to use your voice, name, picture and other information about you for promotional, publicity, or organizational purposes.
