Events have already been scheduled for Federal Hill Commons inaugural year.

The grand opening is scheduled for 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. April 29. The event will feature a ribbon cutting ceremony, the Rugged Brothers Band from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. and headliner the Wright Brothers from 7:30 to 10 p.m.

"We are very excited about adding more green space and this park to our community. We have a great list of new programming and events to showcase the flexibility of this new amenity," Mayor John Ditslear said. "It is amazing how the floodplain space has transformed and the unique elements that have been incorporated into Federal Hill Commons."

Free attractions, at the grand opening, include inflatables, balloon artists, face painting, a trackless train and a photo booth. Food and beverages will be available for sale in the market plaza. The evening will conclude with fireworks at 10 p.m.

"April 29's grand opening will be a celebration worthy of this new facility," said Brandon Bennett, parks director. "We want Federal Hill Commons to be hip to the new and younger demographic but also cater to those of Old Town Noblesville. The opening and events that follow show that focus to be inclusive to all Noblesville residents and guests."

Following the grand opening, the year-round park will play host to traditional events Noblesville residents and guests have grown accustomed to attending and several new opportunities. The 2017 schedule of events includes:

• May 5 - Cinco de Mayo + Salsa for Salsa; 6 p.m. to 10pm

• May 6 - Noblesville Main Street Farmer's Market Opens (runs every Saturday through October 14); 8 a.m. to noon

• June 10 - Foam Party; 7:30 p.m. to 9:30p p.m.

• July 9-August 27 - Noblesville Cultural Arts Commission Band Concerts Series; 6:30 p.m. Sundays

• July 26 - USFA National Tournament Parade of Teams; 6:30 p.m.

• July 27-29 and August 3-5 - Shakespeare in the Park; 8:30 p.m. (Hosted by NCAC)

• August 19 - Rotary BBQ Cook-off; 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.

• September 15 - Movie in the Park: Sing; dusk

• October 14 - Chili Cook-off + Trike Race; 8 a.m. to noon

• October 28 - Adult Costume Party (*Ages 21 and older); 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

"We are constantly adding events and we believe we have a great list of events for the first year. Our plan is to 'walk before we run' but we hope to gain some real momentum with this park in 2017," Bennett said.

In addition to previously announced Summer Concert Series, Federal Hill Commons will play host to its own live music events with its Tribute Concert Series. The series includes 16 Candles on June 3; Classic Rock Experience on July 15; Jai Baker on August 11; and Separate Ways featuring the Fishers School of Rock Band Sept. 16. Like the Summer Concert Series, these shows are free to the public and are scheduled for 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

"The Tribute Concerts will pay homage to those we love to hear in music and provide an eclectic variety of music to accommodate all interests," said Mike Hoffmeister, assistant parks director Mike Hoffmeister. "We think it will be a great compliment to our Summer Concert Series."

Additional information about the park will be released closer to the grand opening. For more information, visit www.federalhillcommons.com.
