The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office will be present a free public education forum to address the issues of heroin, illegal drugs, and underage drinking at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Hamilton County 4H Fairgrounds, 2003 E. Pleasant St., Noblesville.
A panel of speakers will teach attendees about the consequences of drug and alcohol use, how to identify drugs and drug paraphernalia, and how drugs are entering Hamilton County. Brandon Robinson will speak about the dangers of underage drinking and the effects that it can have on families. Robinson was incarcerated at the age of 18 after causing a fatal crash due to operating under the influence. Jeanine Motsay will speak about the NBome drug. She lost her son in May after he experimented for the first time with the drug. G.S. John Grindean and S.A. Louis Arona from the Drug Enforcement Agency will inform attendees about how to identify drugs and paraphernalia,.Major A. Dietz from the Hamilton-Boone Drug Task Force will talk about how heroin is entering Hamilton County.
Resources will be available for attendees to visit before and after the forum. The forum is appropriate for middle school-age students to adults. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
