County youth to 'Kick Butts'
The Times

Westfield Middle School students in grades 7 and 8 will "Mark the Halls" to support tobacco prevention and to celebrate National Kick Butts Day, today.

Students will be writing anti-smoking slogan signs and taking a tobacco-free pledge.

They will be joined by teachers, Westfield Schools Superintendent, Mayor Andy Cook, Westfield City Council members and the Westfield Washington Township Trustee.

March 18, the Boys & Girls Club of Noblesville will play host to its Basketball Spectacular. Part of this event will be the unveiling of member-created billboard designs with anti-tobacco messages.

Attendees will judge the designs and the winners will be seen on two billboards and print advertising in the weeks following.

Youth organizations across the U.S. will take a stand against tobacco by participating in Kick Butts Day events.

Smoke Free Hamilton County has created a Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/SmokeFreeHC/. The organization asks everyone to log on, "like" the page and print out the pledge, "I Pledge to Be Tobacco Free Because ..." Write in your reason, snap a photo and post as a comment.
