Information parents and students need as Hamilton County schools prepare for another school year.
Schedule of events for the first days of school for Sheridan, Westfield and Hamilton Heights schools:
Class Schedule/ Orientation
Sheridan Elementary students class lists will be posted at the front entrance of SES July 28. Students will be able to meet their teacher and drop off their school supplies at the Back to School Open House, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday.
Sheridan Middle School student schedules and locker assignments will be available in the SMS office starting July 31.
All SHS student schedules will be available on the first day of school.
Sheridan High School offices are open 8 a.m. to noon, and 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. daily.
Students return to school Aug. 9
For returning students, the bus schedule and route will remain the same. New student's parents should expect a call from the Sheridan School transportation office between Friday and Aug. 8 to confirm their preferred transportation schedule.
School Supply Lists
Elementary and Middle School supply lists can found under the Parents tab on the school's website.
Parent have the option to rent textbooks for the upcoming year. Invoices for textbook rental will be mailed to parents at the end of August. Payments are due in full by September 15th.
Class Schedule/ Orientation
Washington Woods Elementary students can meet their teacher and classmates at an ice cream social 5:30 p.m. Aug. 7, with Meet the Teacher starting at 6:30 p.m.
Shamrock Springs Elementary will have its orientation Aug. 7, starting with a newcomer night for incoming students 4 p.m., followed by a Kindergarten information night 5 p.m. and an ice cream social for all students at 5:30 p.m.
Maple Glen Elementary will have its first-grade information night 6 p.m. and back to school social 6:30 p.m. Aug. 7.
Kindergarten parent information night will be 6 p.m. Aug. 8.
Oak Trace Elementary Kindergarteners will be able to meet their teachers 6:30 p.m. Thursday, with an all-school ice cream social to follow at 7 p.m.
Monon Trail Elementary will have an ice cream social and Meet the Teacher night 5 p.m. Aug. 7.
Westfield Intermediate School students will have the opportunity to see their classrooms and find their lockers at one of the open houses scheduled for 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.; noon to 3 p.m.; and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday, and 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and noon to 3 p.m. Friday.
Westfield Middle School will also have an open house for students from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.; noon to 3 p.m.; and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, and from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and noon to 3p.m. Friday.
Westfield High School freshman and new student orientation will be from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Aug. 7.
Students will receive their schedules and locker assignments and there will be a brief presentation in the Auditorium. All returning students will receive their official schedule, locker number and student handbook on the first day of school.
School begins for all students Aug. 9.
Transportation information will be available to all Westfield School district parents starting Aug. 1 under the Transportation tab in the district app.
Westfield High School Students who wish to drive to school must complete a registration form and display a current parking sticker on their car while on campus. A registration form is available on the WHS Website under the Parents tab. Students should bring the completed registration form with $10 and valid driver's license to the Information Desk during the first week of school. Sophomores will be able to register starting Aug. 21 based on availability.
School Supply lists
Supply Lists for Westfield Elementary and Middle school can be found on each school's individual web page under the student's tab. Supply lists for the Intermediate school can be found under the parents tab on their webpage
Anyone wishing to rent textbooks for the year can do so online. Parents of students in grades K-6 received an email invoice in early July; parents of students in grades 7-12 will be invoiced in September.
Any Westfield Washington School student wishing to access the internet must complete a Technology Use Form and Internet Acceptable Use Agreement Parental Consent Form. Both forms are available online under the parents tab of each respective school website, or in the Media Center at each school.
Hamilton Heights Primary and Elementary School Ice Cream Socials will be 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 7, at each respective school.
During Husky Connect Day parents will be given information about future field trips and Back to School Night, which will occur in the first few weeks of school.
High schoolers will receive their schedules and MacBooks 1 p.m. today at the High School office.
School begins for all students Aug. 8.
Parents of all Hamilton Heights students can check their transportation information on the Power Portal on the school district website.
School Supply List
All supply lists for Hamilton Heights primary, elementary and middle schools are available online at each school's home page under the documents and forms tab.
High schoolers can pick up their MacBooks 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. today at the High School office. Freshmen should arrive at 12:30 to set up their computers.
