INDIANAPOLIS - The Hoosier Veterans Assistance Foundation of Indiana will once again play host to the Veteran Stand Down, scheduled for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at Indiana National Guard Armory, 3912 West Minnesota St., Indianapolis.
All Veterans with a VA Card or DD214 are invited. Transportation to the event site will be provided from the following locations: HVAF of Indiana's headquarters at 964 N. Pennsylvania St.; Lincoln Apartments at 530 N Holmes Ave; Indianapolis, IN; Volunteers of America at 611 N Capital Avenue; and The Wheeler Mission at 245 N Delaware St.
Free goods and services available including haircuts, dental, eye and health screenings, clothing, coats. Lunch will be provided by Chic-Fil-A.
Veterans can talk to representatives face-to-face. This veteran stand down is a comfortable setting to discuss opportunities and resources available to veterans.
HVAF helps homeless veterans return to self-sufficiency and engages at risk veterans and their families to prevent them from becoming homeless by providing supportive housing, case management, food, hygiene and clothing as well as other essential services.
