WESTFIELD - The Indianapolis Colts will be getting a new home for training camp.
According to The Times newsgathering partner WTHR, a press conference has been scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday at Grand Park in Westfield to announce a "major partnership that will make Westfield a destination for sports fans beyond youth sports."
WTHR sports director Dave Calabro confirms the partnership involves the Colts holding training camp at the facility next summer.
The camp will again be open to the public for many of the team's practices, similar to previous years.
The Colts held training camp at their W. 56th Street complex this summer after seven years at Anderson University. For 11 summers before that, the team held its training camp at the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute.
Grand Park, a 400-acre facility featuring 24 baseball and softball diamonds and 31 other fields for soccer, football and other sports, opened in 2014.
