Tinsel & Tails celebrates Pet Adoption Stories of the Year, acquisition of land for new facility
Tinsel & Tails Holiday Petacular, the Humane Society for Hamilton County's annual charity gala, always features the year's most remarkable pet adoption and survivor stories, but this year they have even more to celebrate.
The Humane Society purchased land in Fishers at 106th & Hague Road that will be the future site of the shelter.
"We have worked tirelessly to keep up with the growing needs of Hamilton County and its pet population, but doing so in our current facility--that we outgrew over 10 years ago--has been incredibly difficult," said Rebecca Stevens, executive director of the Humane Society. "Acquiring the land in Fishers was the first step in making our dream of a state-of-the-art facility that offers not only enough space for the animals, but also space to expand our community outreach programs, a reality."
An update regarding the shelter's new facility plans will be included in the Tinsel & Tails presentation.
Tinsel & Tails is 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Nov. 16, at the Ritz Charles, 12156 N Meridian St, Carmel. The event includes dinner and a silent auction with a multitude of unique gift packages, artwork, amazing trips, and a featured piece of jewelry from Smith's Jewelers.
New additions this year include a jewelry pull by Kendra Scott, a wine pull with exclusive wines, a live auction of two amazing vacation packages, and a live performance by national recording artist Christine Nicole.
Event emcees are Dean Metcalf, Producer of the Bob & Tom Show, and Chris Denari, voice of the Indiana Pacers.
Tinsel & Tails is HSHC's largest event and plays a critical role in funding the shelter's daily operation. The event grossed just over $182K last year. HSHC's fundraising goal this year is $200K.
