Aspire Indiana Health receives funding to expand HIV services
The Times

Aspire Indiana Health has received new grant funding to expand its HIV Services program, which currently provides HIV care coordination, testing, and prevention services in more than a third of the state.

The grants from the Indiana State Department of Health total over $500,000 and will be used to add new staff and services in 2018. A portion of the funds will also be used to renovate and expand space at Aspire's Hoak Building in Anderson.

Aspire Indiana Health's HIV Services staff work out of offices in Lafayette, Muncie, Anderson, and Richmond and provide services in 32 Indiana counties. Additional staff positions and programs made possible through the new grant funding include CLEAR Counseling, a program aimed at changing risky behaviors to help reduce HIV infection and transmission rates.

HIV Services Director Julie Foltz said the funds will enable Aspire Indiana Health to add to its already comprehensive HIV programs.

"The needs of this population are complex and we are grateful to the state of Indiana for giving us the resources to better meet the demands of assisting individuals, families, and communities affected by HIV," Foltz said.
