Aspire Indiana Health, Inc. has earned Look-ALike status as a Federally Qualified Health Center at its Noblesville location.
The designation brings the number of AIH locations offering integrated healthcare in central Indiana to six.
Look-Alike status means that Aspire Indiana Health has achieved all of the standards required to be a Federally Qualified Health Center, or FQHC.
FQHCs are community-based healthcare providers that receive resources from the Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) to provide primary care services in underserved areas. FQHCs have to fulfill a myriad of requirements, including providing a sliding fee scale based on ability to pay and operating under a governing board that includes patients.
The FQHC distinctions come just two years after the formation of Aspire Indiana Health, Inc., a primary healthcare non-profit organization affiliated with Aspire Indiana.
"When we started this journey we were told it couldn't be done. Today I'm especially pleased to say not only have we done it once, but we now have two FQHC clinics in Hamilton County. This is a tremendous accomplishment for Aspire Indiana Health and is a milestone in our continued integration efforts.
This status will significantly impact the way AIH can provide services to the most vulnerable in
Hamilton County," said Jerry Landers, Aspire Indiana Health chief executive officer.
The Noblesville location at 17840 Cumberland Road will begin offering primary care services by
March 2018. Primary care is already offered at Aspire Indiana Health locations in Carmel,
