Breaking down tech barriers in West Africa
Noblesville High School innovations teacher Don Wettrick and NHS grad Pete Freeman teamed up over the summer and traveled to West Africa to help an organization produce a marketing video.

But their intentions of going to Ghana didn't just stop at teaching Global Mammas how to advertise. Wettrick and Freeman wanted to learn how life worked in Ghana, as well, especially when it came to education and business.

"Perhaps the most important part of my travels out there, I went out there to listen," Wettrick said.

Global Mammas is an organization that helps African women and their families live a prosperous life. And while the organization started with only six founding members in 2003, the nonprofit has grown to bring in volunteers from all over the world.

"They don't have all of the technology and equipment needed, so they'll be using this video for the next couple of years," said Wettrick, who is proud to be one of those volunteers.
