Carmel company to conduct job fair on Thursday
Carmel-based Allied Solutions will have a job fair from 2 to 6 p.m. Thursday to fill positions in its customer-service area.

Current plans are to hire for 60 open positions, with 50 of them based in Carmel. The job openings range from customer service to insurance and claims processing and product marketing.

Visitors at Dan Young GM in Tipton can have their car washed 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. today to help raise funds for breast cancer awareness.

All proceeds from the third annual event go to the Tipton County Foundation Women's Fund targeting Breast Cancer Awareness programs.

Noblesville lineman competing today among 'best in world'
In Jeff Kraus' daytime job as a lineman, he works with high voltage in extreme conditions.

One wrong move could prove deadly.

That's why he has to be good at what he does. And he is. Today, the 42-year-old Noblesville resident is among 60 Duke Energy line workers vying for "best in world" titles at the International Lineman's Rodeo in Bonner Springs, Kan.

The rodeo attracts the best linemen from around the world competing in events that test their job-related skills.

Noblesville man found not guilty in pellet gun death
Jose L. Romo, 20, Noblesville, on Wednesday was found not guilty in the pellet-gun death nearly one year ago of Jesus A. Martinez-Lopez, 45, avoiding a maximum of eight years to a minimum of two years punishment for the Class C Felony of reckless homicide.

WESTFIELD - What makes an awarded superintendent?

One who builds a great team to create learning opportunities for students. One who leads a district to have the highest non-waivered graduation rate in Central Indiana. And one who faces huge fiscal challenges with determination.

Meet Mark Keen, Westfield-Washington Schools' superintendent of nearly 18 years.

The Westfield resident -- who in September was named 2015 Superintendent of the Year for District 5, which includes eight counties in Central Indiana, by the Indiana Association of Public School Superintendents - shares more about what makes him a successful superintendent.

Nominated by his peers, Keen -- who was named Indiana Superintendent of the Year in 2006 -- said he feels good about this year's recognition.

Tip-A-Cop for Special Olympics set for Saturday
Three Red Robin restaurant locations in Hamilton County, including one in Noblesville, will participate Saturday when law enforcement officers team up with Special Olympics Indiana for a Tip-A-Cop fundraiser that benefits more than 11,000 Hoosiers athletes with intellectual disabilities.

Customers are encouraged to donate gratuities, a "special tip," to law enforcement "celebrity waiters." In doing so, they will help to raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics Indiana and the services the organization provides to adults and children.
