Community dinner almost here
SHERIDAN - The Sheridan community's annual Good Samaritan Thanksgiving Dinner takes place on Thanksgiving Day.

Community members, helpers and volunteers make this annual event a success every year -- and this year looks to be no different. These good folks help bring our community together in a sharing and comforting way.

Westfield residents make commitment as a Providence Associate
Westfield residents Deanna and John Schleeter recently deepened their relationship with the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods Indiana.

On Nov. 18, both Deanna and John made commitments as Providence Associates, joining 20 other 2017 associates with the Sisters of Providence during the rite of commitment ceremony.

Cicero Christmas Parade Set for Dec. 2
CICERO - The Town of Cicero has scheduled its annual Christmas Parade for 1 p.m. Dec. 2.

The annual community event is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Cicero and Cicero Christian Church.

Parade attendees are encouraged to bring an unwrapped toy to help make Christmas a little brighter for children in the communities of Arcadia, Atlanta and Cicero who may not otherwise have much under their tree.

FISHERS - For the third consecutive year, the City of Fishers is playing host to its Shop Fishers initiative, inviting the community to shop local during Small Business Saturday.

Help fill the Red Stocking
The 12th annual Red Stocking Fund campaign begins this week, just as the last of the money raised in 2016 has been used by the Noblesville Township Trustees Office.

In 2016, just more than $15,000 was raised, for the third consecutive year, to be used throughout this year for the students of the Noblesville community who are less fortunate.

Free Thanksgiving dinner offered at Sheridan
SHERIDAN - For 5 years now several organizations in the Sheridan community have come together to work with the God Samaritan Network of Hamilton County to provide community members with a FREE Thanksgiving Day meal. The meal is being served at the Community Center and serving time is 11 am to 2 pm.

Local veterans honored by Kiwanis Club of Cicero
CICERO - The Kiwanis Club of Cicero honored local veterans with a special breakfast and program last Saturday at the United Family Wesleyan Church in Cicero.

Members of the Cicero Kiwanis in cooperation with students involved in Hamilton Heights Key, Builders and K-Kids Clubs along with their sponsors also helped throughout the breakfast.

Hamilton County Parks fined
The U.S. Department of the Interior reduced a fine, owed by Hamilton County Parks and Recreation, for non-compliance with reporting procedures, in relation to archaeological activities at Strawtown Kotweeki Park, between 2001 and 2011.

The parks department will pay $6,533 for violations of the Native American Grave Protection and Repatriation Act.

Crowdfunding campaign started for the Cicero launch
CICERO - Residents and visitors in Cicero will soon be able to enjoy the Morse Reservoir in a new way, thanks to acrowdfunding campaign for an accessible canoe and kayak launch.

The campaign, sponsored by the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA) and offered through the crowdfunding platform developed by Patronicity, is managed by the Town of Cicero.
