Judges celebrate Constitution Day by visiting students across the state
The Times

More than 4,000 students across the state will celebrate Constitution Day with judges and Supreme Court staff attorneys visiting their classrooms, Sept. 17.

Indiana courts are recognizing the anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Constitution, Sept. 17, 1787, with a program that brings judges into schools.

In Hamilton County Judge Gail Bardach will be at Hamilton Heights High School, 5802 Ind. 19, Arcadia, Judge Paul Felix will be at Brooks School Elementary, 12451 Brooks School Rd, Fishers, and Magistrate David Najjar will be at Fishers High School, 13000 Promise Road, Fishers, and Hamilton Heights High School.

Speakers are visiting a variety of grade levels with various programs. One option for older students includes a discussion about the bail system incorporating a short film from the Breaking Down Bail campaign and resources from the National Center for State Courts. Other options include a Bill of Rights lesson and Constitutional facts.

Media interested in visiting one of the presentations should contact Sarah Kidwell at 317-234-3055 or sarah.kidwell@courts.in.gov.
