Tip-A-Cop fundraisers to benefit Special Olympics Indiana
Indiana law enforcement officers to wait tables at participating Red Robins
INDIANAPOLIS - Red Robin Gourmet Burgers and Brews restaurants will go blue this weekend as officers and staff from law enforcement agencies around the state volunteer their time to raise money for Special Olympics Indiana by collecting special tips during the 12th annual Tip-A-Cop® event.
The fundraiser will take place Saturday at more than 400 restaurants in 39 states, including Indiana, with stores in Noblesville and Carmel participating during the lunch, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and dinner, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Participating Indiana law enforcement agencies include the Carmel Police Department, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, the Indiana State Police, Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, Evansville, Lowell, and Bremen posts, the Plainfield Police Department, and the Porter County Sheriff's Office.
All donations will directly benefit Special Olympics Indiana.
"For 12 years, Red Robin has partnered with Special Olympics, and we are proud to have raised more than $4.8 million through the Tip-A-Cop program," said Jonathan Muhtar, senior vice president and chief marketing officer for Red Robin. "This program brings communities together at our restaurants in support of Special Olympics' mission, and we look forward to our funds continuing to support their year-round sports, training, and athletic competitions in communities across the U.S."
Tip-A-Cop is part of Special Olympics' Law Enforcement Torch Run campaign, involving more than 100,000 law enforcement members worldwide. As the largest grass-roots fundraiser and public awareness vehicle for Special Olympics, LETR funds raised go directly to local programs in states or countries where the funds are generated.
"We are grateful to Red Robin for their years of supporting our efforts to raise money for Special Olympics athletes throughout the state," said Indiana State Police Master Trooper Tommy Walker, Jr., director of the Indiana LETR. "And to Indiana State Police Superintendent Doug Carter for leading ISP's participation in this outstanding event."
The Noblesville restaurant is located in Hamilton Town Center, 13215 Harrell Pkwy. Carmel has two locations participating, in Clay Terrace, 14599 Clay Terrace Blvd, and 9965 N Michigan Road.
