Books & Brews opening Friday
The Times

CARMEL - Books & Brews Carmel is scheduled to open Friday at its new location at Carmel City Center. This is the fifth location to open, after the original brewpub location in Indianapolis, and taprooms in Zionsville, Brownsburg and Muncie.

The Carmel taproom offers a full menu, including beer cheese dip made fresh daily from the beer of the day, a generous selection of sandwiches and grilled flatbreads, along with a full array of artisan grilled cheese sandwiches.

They will have 12 tap lines with the five core Books & Brews beers always on tap, which are: Nancy, a citra-hopped pale ale, Clifford, an Irish-style red ale, Cream & Punishment, a cream ale, Charlie, a chocolate milk stout and Shogun Soba Ale, an amber ale with buckwheat. The other seven taps will be pouring a mix of dedicated guest beers, rotating guest and house beers, alongside two ciders. They will also be featuring wines from Mallow Run Winery in nearby Bargersville.

As a special promotion, they are offering Mug Club memberships at a discounted price. The Mug Club benefits include: 20oz. pours for the price of a pint, $1 off six-packs, $3 mug fills on Mondays, as well as a locally-made ceramic mug, 10% off B&B merchandise and also the permission to use Books & Brews as a lending library (donate a book, take a book home). The Mug Club usually costs $70 for a lifelong membership, but for a short time while they celebrate their grand opening, memberships will be $50. Pre-sale orders for the Mug Club can be made on their Facebook page.

Books & Brews will provide a local family-friendly haven in the heart of Carmel, with kids-eat-free days every Tuesday and Sunday. Books & Brews plans to be open Monday through Thursday from 11:00 am to 10:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. and Sunday 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Books & Brews is located at 61 W. City Center Drive. Surface parking is available on plaza level (accessible from City Center Drive) and in the underground garage (accessible from Range Line Road and City Center Drive), as well as in the newly-opened Veterans Way garage.
