Legacy Fund awards $170,770 to Hamilton County organizations
CARMEL-Legacy Fund of Hamilton County, a Central Indiana Community Foundation affiliate, announced $170,770 will be awarded to 10 not-for-profit organizations and two Hamilton County leadership projects this month.

Karl Haas was longtime supporter of Carmel
CARMEL - Karl Haas, who served as the attorney for the Carmel Redevelopment Commission (CRC) for more than 20 years, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, Dec. 6, at his home.

Library, school to bring 'Frankenstein' to life
INDIANAPOLIS - The Hamilton North Public Library, Cicero, and Carmel High School, have received funding to help bring "Frankenstein" to life in their community and participate in a statewide read of the book in 2018.

The grants are part of the year-long One State / One Story: Frankenstein program initiated by Indiana Humanities and in partnership with the Indiana State Library and Center for the Book.

First five days of Carmel Christkindlmarkt attracts more than 48,000
CARMEL - The Carmel Christindlmarkt and The Ice at Center Green had a strong opening week. The five days that the market and ice were open attracted more than 48,000 people.

"It is heart-warming to see the number of families and friends enjoying time together this winter at the market and skating on The Ice. The memories being made will last a lifetime and many will create traditions around this venue that they will look forward to from year to year," said Mayor Jim Brainard.

Home Place strikes agreement with Carmel
HOME PLACE - Concerned Citizens for Home Place, an organization formed to legally contest the forced annexation by the City of Carmel of their territory in south Hamilton County has announced it has negotiated an agreement with Carmel whereby the organization will no longer dispute the annexation allowing Carmel to annex the Home Place district effective January 2018.

Health care tech firm adding high-wage jobs at Hamilton County HQ
CARMEL - Clinical Architecture, a software development company focusing on health care terminology management solutions, announced today that it is expanding its headquarters in Carmel, with plans to create 40 new, high-wage jobs by 2021.
