Candidate urges voters to reach out and ask questions
Letter to the editor

I could not agree more with the recent sentiment regarding the lack of details from candidates. "I Love Noblesville" should be more of an expectation for your councilperson and not a platform from which to run.

City elections are very important when one thinks of all the changes that have occurred in Westfield in the past four years. As taxpayers, we can have representation in these changes when we have the right people making well researched decisions.

More than 10 million kids nationwide - and 123,163 kids in Indiana - attend afterschool programs. Hamilton County Tourism supports Grand Park
To the editor,

The introduction of Grand Park into an already robust Hamilton County group sports tournament environment has been a game changer. Added to an amazing complement of quality facilities, Grand Park and its resident teams now drive tens of thousands of visitors to this community. In fact, for nine weekends between March 1 and July 30, local hotels are sold out - a combination of local market forces as well as Grand Park and other sports activities.

Does anybody really know what time it is?
To the editor,

This Sunday, clocks will move ahead as Daylight Savings Time (DST) goes into effect.

In most states, this simply means sunrise is shifted from approximately 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. However, in Indiana, residents living in the Eastern Time Zone will experience sunrise shifting from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m., plunging them back into morning darkness.

Noble Crossing, stand up and take a bow
To the editor,

I would like to take a moment to sincerely thank the entire staff at Noble Crossing Elementary. My son, Zachary Tarrh, had the pleasure of being a student for two years at this remarkable school. My son whom has serious learning disabilities was welcomed with open arms by Mr. Haney and his remarkable staff when my husband and I relocated to send our son to Noble Crossing. The teachers and staff have restored my faith in the school system.

After more than a quarter century of Jonathan Byrd's operations, and nearly 65 years of family-run foodservice on the south side of Indianapolis, the opportunity to partner with the City of Westfield, and to do so within a truly visionary project on the scale of Grand Park, is tremendously exciting.

W.A. Dix: Thanks for the help
Some things renew your faith in people, especially people helping people.

Last evening, I sustained a flat tire and pulled off the road, planning to call my roadside-assistance number. Before I could make arrangements, Jack Coy, from Kirklin, pulled up behind me and volunteered to change my tire, which he then did very quickly. A sheriff's deputy also stopped to assist with traffic control.
