Council's approval of 'unlimited' liquor licenses is 'disturbing'
To the editor,

In reading about the proposed development of the "Riverfront Development District," it was pretty disturbing to even imagine that our Common Council approved "unlimited amount of liquor licenses dispensed in the area," at an even lower rate than the private market.

Noblesville Lions Club thanks the community
Dear Editor,

The Noblesville Lions Club would like to thank our loyal customers for supporting our recent Pork Chop BBQ and Pancake Breakfast. We would also like to thank all the businesses that purchased tent ads and the businesses and individuals that donated items for our successful silent auction. This is our major fundraiser and allows us to help many groups and individuals.

Article 'humiliated' seniors arrested for drinking on school grounds
Dear Editor,

The piece "NHS senior celebration ends in arrests" (The Times, June 3, 2015) was a bit out of line, but to publish the mugshots of the two seniors arrested was utterly confounding and wrong. The article not only humiliated the young men involved and their families, but displayed an appalling disregard for basic rules of journalistic integrity. What the two young men did was immature and displayed a lack of common sense. It was stupid. However, it was neither violent nor dangerous to anyone but themselves. They are eighteen years old. Eighteen year-olds do stupid things. I did stupid things when I was eighteen, and I am certain that everyone on your staff did, as well. To plaster their mug shots on your front page, above the fold, is a move that is usually reserved for those arrested of heinous crimes, not simple misdemeanors and crimes of vice.

HAND would like to stop old grain elevator demolition
Dear Editor,

The grain elevator site in Noblesville is a technological marvel, built in 1904 to serve a flourishing and dynamic agricultural economy. These structures stand as a testament to the contribution local farmers have made to Noblesville, the place most proud to claim the Miller identity.

Reader says Corbett 'right man"; 'is time for a change'
Letter to the editor,

Noblesville is ready for a change in leadership and Mike Corbett is the candidate to do it. We lived in Noblesville for 26 years, and several years ago we moved to Cicero. We still consider Noblesville our town and own property and pay real estate taxes in Noblesville.

Why conduct candidate interviews if the result is predetermined?
Dear Editor,

I received three separate post cards in the mail today from the Hamilton County Professional Fire Fighters. Each one is nearly identical except for the names of the candidates they're promoting. Each one features the headline: "Support Public Safety." And they all encourage me to vote for the incumbent.

Former Councilman challenges mayor on his record
Dear Editor,

As the longest serving City Councilor in Noblesville history, I have to challenge the mayor on the so-called "progress" he's made over the past 12 years.

W.A. Dix: Thanks for the help
Some things renew your faith in people, especially people helping people.

Last evening, I sustained a flat tire and pulled off the road, planning to call my roadside-assistance number. Before I could make arrangements, Jack Coy, from Kirklin, pulled up behind me and volunteered to change my tire, which he then did very quickly. A sheriff's deputy also stopped to assist with traffic control.
