Noblesville inducts 7 into HOF

Noblesville High School inducted the 2017 Class into the NHS Athletic Hall of Fame during halftime of the Logansport game.

The inductees are from the 2000 to 2010 decade and features seven honorees.

Chris Hartley (2002) was a four-year basketball letterman, scored 1,358 points, third on the all-time NHS scoring list, All Conference and All County three years, and a key member of teams that won 67 games during his high school career.

Leigh Marcum (2001) was a four-year letterman in volleyball, All Conference and All County four years, Hamilton County Player of the Year twice, All-Metro North Co-Player of the year twice, All State as a senior, All Indianapolis Super Team as a junior and senior, and held nine school records.

Cindi Merrill (2002) was a four-year basketball letterman, scored 1,625 points, second on the all-time NHS scoring list, All Conference and All County four years, and selected to the Indiana All Star team.

Meghan Potee (2010) was an individual medalist in the state golf meet, first place finisher in diving at the state swim meet, and All State in both golf and diving. Potee is the only athlete in IHSAA history to win individual state championships in two unrelated sports, four-year letterman in both golf and diving.

Sally Shonk (2003) was a four-year golf letterman, finished second individually at the state golf finals, four-time All State, All Conference and All County selection, IHSAA Mental Attitude Award winner, Academic All State, and lettered four years in basketball.

Sarah VanMetre (2003) was a four-year letterman in basketball, selected to the Indiana All Star team, four-year letterman in volleyball, and All Conference and All County in both volleyball and basketball.

Wes Whisler (2001) was named "Mr. Baseball", four-year letterman, All Conference and All County four years, 1st Team All State as a senior, hit 41 career home runs and had 145 RBIs, both school records, and three-year letterman in basketball.
