INDIANAPOLIS - Hamilton County swimmers hit the pool at IUPUI Friday night for the state preliminary heats. Noblesville had a pair of relay teams at the event, but couldn't find a spot in today's finals. The 400 free relay team of Isaac Johnston, Cameron Kramer, Jakob Janson and Jack Wolfred finished 18th with a time of 3:14.41. The Miller team of Wolfred, Evan Diamente, Janson and Johnston took 12th in the 200 free relay in 1:27.66. They'll swim in today's consolation heat. Hamilton Heights sophomore made the trip to IUPUI as well. He finished 24th in the 100 backstroke with a time of 53.02 and 31st in the 50 free in 21.99. Westfield's top finisher was junior Christopher Kenney who finished 13th in the 100 free in 47.18 and will swim in the consolation heat today. Kenney was also 22nd Friday in the 50 free with a time of 21.57. Shamrock senior Matthew Carr was 23rd in the 100 fly in 52.03. The Westfield relay team of Nicholas Brauer, Cameron Clayton, Carr and Alexander Hand took 18th in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:37.75. The team of Kenney, Hand, Carr and Cody Fenimore took 20th in the 200 free relay in 1:28.70. The team of Kenney, Brett Calvin, Brauer and Fenimore raced to 27th in the 400 free relay with a time of 3:16.61. Carmel had a great Friday and will have the following swimmers in today's finals: 400 free relay (Jacob Mitchell, Alec DeLong, Andrew Morozov, Drew Kibler); Stefano Batista, Charles Vaughan and Andrew Rafalko in the 100 breast; Mitchell and Wyatt Davis in the 500 free; Vaughan and Brett Sherman in the 200 IM; 200 medley relay (Davis, Batista, Jonathan Bledsoe, Andrew Couchon); Drew Kibler and Mitchell in the 200 free; 200 free relay (Couchon, Vaughan, Evan Kopp, Batista); Kibler and Couchon in the 100 free; Couchon, Kopp and Batista in the 50 free; Davis in the 100 back. Fishers will have the following swimmers in today's finals: 400 free relay (Joseph Moser, Nolan Yorkman, Kyle Haflich, Drake Stallworth); Nicholas Harris in the 500 free; Haflich in the 200 IM; Stallworth in the 100 fly. The Hamilton Southeastern team of Andrew Christopher, DJ Rogers, Zack Teffeteller and Nathan Brown will swim in the 200 free relay finals.
