After losing soundly to Guerin Catholic at home on Thursday night, the Heritage Christian softball team travelled to Noblesville for a rematch with the Golden Eagles 24 hours later. Heritage faired a bit better on the second try, but the Guerin still managed to complete the season sweep with a 17-10 victory on Friday night.

Guerin got off to a good start leading Heritage Christian 7-0 after two innings. Heritage responded in a big way in the fourth inning scoring nine runs, but Guerin had a response ready. The Golden Eagles answered with eight runs of their own in the bottom of the fourth. Heritage didn't make a serious challenge the rest of the way.

Sarah Miller led the Golden Eagles on the mound pitching six innings, striking out nine, giving up two hits and only allowing one run.

Madelyn Buckner and Megan Collins had strong nights at the plate for Guerin. Buckner went 3-for-4, scored four runs and knocked in one run. Collins went 2-for-3, scored two runs and led the team with three RBIs.

Guerin finished with 14 hits as a team. Five different players tallied multiple hits: Buckner, Collins, Miller, Kelby Sullivan and Olivia Nystrom.

Guerin (2-1) next plays 10 a.m. today at Bishop Chatard.
