PENDLETON - The Westfield Shamrocks found themselves in a pitchers' duel on Wednesday night at Pendleton Heights High School. In the end, the Arabians were able to do just a little bit more at the plate and secured a 2-0 victory over the Rocks.

Despite six strong innings including eight strikeouts from Westfield ace Cassidy Ferrer, Pendleton was able to scratch out two runs - one in the third and another in the sixth.

The Arabian pitchers were equally impressive on the night. Audrey Ricker recorded the win after pitching five innings, striking out five and giving up only two hits. Mackenzie McGuire added two innings and also only allowed two hits. Most importantly, the Pendleton pitchers allowed zero runs.

The Arabians were also solid defensively committing zero errors. The Shamrocks committed two.

Five different Westfield batters notched a hit on the night, Ahley Swartout, Ferrer, Kelsey Powers, Claire Haffley and Emily Revercomb.

The Shamrocks have a break before their next game. Westfield next plays host to Noblesville 6 p.m. April 11.
