FISHERS - The Fishers softball team had two opportunities to nab a win on Saturday in southern Indiana and failed on both tries.

The Lady Tigers lost at Jeffersonville 5-3 in the early game and then headed north to Borden High School where they lost 3-1 in the second game of their doubleheader.

In the first game, Fishers held a 3-0 lead over Jeffersonville half way through the fourth inning, but the Red Devils responded with two runs in the bottom of the fourth and three more in the sixth.

The Tigers finished with seven hits including a team-high two from sophomore Mara Lorkowski. Lorkowski also scored a run.

In the second game, Fishers trailed the Borden Braves 3-0 after four innings. The Tigers scored one late run in the sixth inning but couldn't complete the comeback.

Junior Briona Rance provided the team's lone RBI scoring senior Janey Schmidt on the play.

Senior Emma Wellington pitched all six innings for the Tigers in the game. Wellington recorded a loss but struck out two batters in the process.

Fishers has a break before its next game at home against Hamilton Heights 5:30 p.m. April 13.
