When the weather starts getting a little better, it's a sure sign that the Easter Bunny is hopping down the trail and horseshoes will be flying in Biddle Park!
For the 43rd year, the Sheridan Horseshoe League will soon be starting. Men and women from around the state over 12 years of age are invited to participate in the sport. The Sheridan league has participants come from as far away as Kokomo to pitch one evening each week.
Rain or shine, the season starts May 9. The league is much like a bowling league. You establish a handicap, determined by your average. So even if you are a first-time pitcher it gives everyone a chance.
Horseshoe pitching is a good outdoor, social sport and a great way to meet new people. The league holds three tournaments each year. The first tournament will be on May 13 and is sponsored by O'Reilly Auto Parts.
