FISHERS - The second-ranked Fishers Tigers Varsity Baseball team (7-1/3-0) received school record setting performances from Luke Duermit and Craig Yoho on Saturday as the Tigers swept the Noblesville Millers by scores of 2-1 and 13-6.

Duermit set the school record for strikeouts in a game, as he struck out 16 Miller batters in Game 1 on Saturday. Duermit (3-0) allowed 2 hits and 1 unearned run as he faced only 25 batters in his complete game victory.

Noblesville took an early lead in the first inning. A wild pitch by Duermit scored one run.

Duermit received support from Craig Yoho and Caleb Brenczewski. Yoho connected on a 1st pitch fastball to leadoff the 4th inning with a home run to left to tie the score at 1-1.

Caleb Brenczewski followed the next inning hitting a 1-1 curveball over the left field fence for a homerun. Brenczewski's homerun proved to be the game winning run.

In Game 2 on Saturday, it was Yoho's turn to enter the record books. Yoho set the school record for home runs in a game, as he connected on three different 2-run homers. Yoho's three home run performance in Game 2 gave him four home runs on the day.

Yoho finished 3-5 with 6 RBIs on his 3 homeruns. Yoho received help from Caleb Brenczewski again in Game 2. Caleb Brenczewski finished 3-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and two runs scored.

Duermit also added three hits and scored three runs, and Kiel Brenczewski added two hits and a run. Trevor Newman and Matthew Wolff both contributed RBI doubles, as the Noblesville scored four runs in the fourth inning. The big inning was thanks to a home run by Reese Sharp and a single by Bryce Masterson.

Jackson Ramey took the loss for Noblesville. He went one inning, allowing three runs, three hits, and walking zero.

Masterson led Noblesville with three runs batted in. He went 2-for-3 on the day.

Noblesville collected five hits and Fishers had 14 in the high-scoring affair

Evan Patrick (1-0) earned the victory in Game 2. Patrick came on in relief in the fifth inning with no outs and a runner on second base. Patrick proceeded to record three straight outs to hold the Tigers lead at 5-4.

Taylor Soper earned his fifth save of the season when he worked out of the sixth inning holding on to a 7-6 lead.

The Tigers blew the game open with six runs in the bottom of the sixth before Soper finished the seventh by striking out the side.

Soper recorded five strikeouts in his two-inning save. Luke Albright picked up a no decision pitching 3.2 innings to start the game. Albright struck out 5 and only allowed 2 hits, but allowed 6 walks in route to 4 earned runs.

The Tigers three game sweep of the Millers sets the stage for the Mudsock Series with the Hamilton Southeastern Royals.

The Royals have also begun Hoosier Crossroads Conference play at 3-0. The Mudsock Series begins next Thursday with games at Southeastern on Thursday and Saturday and at Fishers on Friday. The Tigers next game will be 6 p.m. Tuesday when they play host to New Castle.
