WESTFIELD - After winning its first two games, the Westfield softball team has dropped three straight.

On Wednesday night it was a loss at Greenfield-Central 9-3.

The Shamrocks grabbed an early lead 1-0 thanks to a Dory Thompson RBI in the bottom of the first inning, but the Cougars responded with three runs in the third. Greenfield sealed the win with six more runs in the final three innings of the game.

After pitching five innings against Noblesville on Tuesday night, Cassidy Ferrer again took the mound for the Rocks tossing five innings, giving up nine hits and striking out eight.

Lexi Martin led the way at the plate for Westfield going 2-for-3 and tallying two RBIs.

Greenfield-Central's Morganne Denny hit the only home run of the game.

The loss brings Westfield to 2-3 on the season. The Rocks next play 5:30 p.m. Saturday at Lawrence Central.
