FISHERS - The Hamilton Southeastern girls track team finished third in the Royal Relays Saturday.

Jessica Bray set a school record in the pole vault at 11 feet 5 inches. The field events were also relays, so Bray combined with Natalie McDaniel, who cleared 10 feet, to break the pole vault relay school record with a combined height of 21 feet 5 inches and finish first.

The high jump relay of Tayah Irvin and Sydney Encinias tied for first at 10 feet 2 inches, just 2 inches short of their relay school record set last year.

The only other first place finish was Mia Mackenzie in the 300 meter hurdles at 45.57.

Ellie Pedersen was second in the 1,600 meters at 5:22.22, and also led off the second place 4 x 800 relay with Caroline Shumaker, Katie Murhling, and Kayleigh Witt in 10:07.22.

The long jump relay of Mackenzie (16 feet 10.75 inches) and Encinias (16 feet 0.75 inches) also placed second with a combined distance of 32 feet 11.5 inches.

The 4 x 200 meter relay of Olivia Burgess, Mackenzie, Tierra Sydnor, and Camille Christopher was third in 1:44.03 which is second all time outdoors for HSE.
