Tiger golfs win invite

DANVILLE - The Fishers Boys Varsity Golf team won the Danville Invitational Saturding, besting 17 other squads.

The Tigers scored 321 points, outshooting Lebanon, 336, Zionsville 338 and Mooresville 339.

Leading the way for the Tigers was junior Noah Chamberlin with a 2nd place 4-over par 76. Rounding out the scoring were Shivom Patel 81, senior Jackson Ousley and freshman Bryce Robertson with 82 and junior Nick Fisher with 83.

Next up for the Tigers is the Mudsock match against HSE at The Hawthorns 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

HSE third at Warsaw

WARSAW - The #5-ranked varsity boys golf team took part in their first invitational of the year Saturday, finishing 3rd in a field of 12 teams on Saturday at Stonehenge Golf Club in Warsaw. In the very windy conditions, senior Drew Alexander led the way individually for the team, shooting a 6-over par 77, followed by fellow seniors Luke Jolly with 81, Will Kirchmer with 83, Jake Hutmacher with 84, and Alex Bullington with 87. Sophomore Daivic Akala also competed as an individual and shot 82. The team kick-off Mudsock competition next week with JV playing Fishers Monday at Gray Eagle and varsity at the Hawthorns against Fishers on Tuesday.

INDIANAPOLIS - The Guerin Catholic Boys Golf Team finished 3rd behind Carmel and Zionsville in today's Highland Invitational hosted by Bishop Chatard.

1st place - Carmel - 311 won on 5th man tie breaker

2nd place - Zionsville - 311

3rd place - Guerin Catholic - 327

4th - Cathedral - 332

5th - Avon - 335

6th - Westfield - 335

7th - Bishop Chatard - 342

8th - North Central - 357

9th - Speedway - 372

Carmel struggle, wins

INDIANAPOLIS - The Greyhounds struggled through extremely windy conditions on Saturday to win the invitational at Highland. Carmel (311) beat Zionsville (311) on a fifth score tie breaker.

Senior Kevin Stone led the Hounds with a 75. Junior Curtis Robertson shot 77, freshman Clay Stirsman fired 79, and sophomore Cole Harris posted an 80. Sophomore Nick Dentino's 81 was seven strokes better than Zionsville fifth score.
