Indiana Basketball HOF holds annual golf outing

The Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame held its annual Golf Classic Monday at Pebble Brook Golf Course in Noblesville. The annual outing is one of the Hall's biggest fundraisers of the year.

The golf classic has been a significant fundraiser for the Hall, raising over $569,000 in 26 years to support operation of the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame museum in New Castle.

The Hall of Fame announced Citizens State Bank as their newest corporate partner by assuming the new title sponsor for the annual Hall of Fame Golf Classic.

"Citizens State Bank is honored to partner with the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame and provide support for the annual Hall of Fame Golf Classic", notes Daniel Maddox, President and CEO of Citizens State Bank.

The event paired teams of five golfers with a Hall of Fame Ambassador for an afternoon round, followed by dinner, awards, and a featured speaker. This year's speaker was newly hired Indiana University head men's basketball coach, Archie Miller.

Community members and local organizations put teams together to support the basketball hall of fame. Attendees included Eddie White, host of Pacers Overtime, the Pacers' postgame show. Other members from the Pacers organization attended as well, including the Pacemates. Members of the IHSAA staff also participated in the afternoon's festivities.

The outing was staffed by volunteers from Citizens State Bank.

"Citizens State Bank is locally-owned and has been serving Central Indiana for more than 140 years. They are dedicated bankers who live and invest in the communities they serve. Decisions are made locally by a team keen to help customers reach their financial goals. To learn more, stop by one of 14 banking center locations, call 888-529-5450, or visit www.citizensstatebankindiana.com."

"The Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame, established in 1962, seeks to enhance the role of basketball in Indiana by honoring those high school basketball players, coaches, officials and others who gained fame on the hardwoods of Indiana and in subsequent years have reflected honor upon themselves and the Indiana basketball community. Since 1990, the organization has maintained a 14,000 square foot museum in New Castle dedicated to the history of basketball in Indiana."
