HSE came away with a great conference and cross town rival victory Wednesday night over Fishers 3-1. HSE got on the board just 2 minutes and 7 seconds into the game when Izzie Wallace assisted Ava Keaffaber. 20 minutes into the half Madeline Bellaver assisted Wallace with a great goal.
In the second half Carly Count got free and dribbled around 2 defenders getting taken down in the box. Izzie Wallace put away the PK. Fishers got a goal back after HSE gave up 3 corner kicks and did not clear it out before the rebound goal was scored. This puts HSE at 3-0 in the conference at the midway point.
The Fishers girls' team was not able to overcome early miscues in the match. Maddie Essick scored late in the second half where the Tigers eventually started to create quality opportunities. Gretchen Mills was explosive and drew a ton of attention from the Royal defenders. Megan Meisterhans and Kaitlyn Hicks recorded 6 saves. The Tigers play at Homestead this Saturday at 4 p.m.
