Noblesville's win on senior night fueled by victory over Hot Dogs

The Noblesville Millers Boys Tennis team had a successful Senior Night, winning 4-1 over the University Trailblazers at Noblesville East Middle School on Wednesday after defeating the Frankfort Hot Dogs the night before. Noblesville's Jacob Hoffman took home the victory at the number one singles spot against University's Logan Hubbard 6-1, 6-3. University evened the score at 1-1 when Trailblazer Stan Markey defeated Noblesville's Jackson Nance 6-7, 7-5 at number two singles.

However, Markey would earn the first and last victory for University. Number three singles belonged to Noblesville as sophomore Zach Greer won 6-0, 6-0 against University's Matt Hurley. The doubles teams of Noblesville's Ben Smith and Evan Voight and Ryan Plummer and Jackson Ramey defeated their University counterparts 6-1, 6-0 and 6-1, 6-2 respectively.

Scores for the Millers:

#1 Singles: NHS Jacob Hoffman (JR) defeats UHS Logan Hubbard; 6-1, 6-3.

#2 Singles: UHS Stan Markey defeats NHS Jackson Nance (JR); 6-7 (7), 7-5, (5-10).

#3 Singles: NHS Zach Greer (SO) defeats UHS Matt Hurley; 6-0, 6-0.

#1 Doubles: NHS Ben Smith (JR) & Evan Voight (SO) defeats UHS Andrew Tang & Hunter Maxwell; 6-1, 6-0.

#2 Doubles: NHS Ryan Plummer (SR) & Jackson Ramey (SR) defeats UHS Phil Magnus & Will Spence; 6-1, 6-2.

The senior night win came off of Tuesday's win against Frankfort.

The Noblesville Millers Varsity Tennis team defeated the Frankfort Hot Dogs 5-0 at home on Tuesday night.

The Millers' sweep of the Hot Dogs began as Noblesville junior Jacob Hoffman dominated Isaac Hunter of Frankfort in the number one singles spot 6-0, 6-2.

Junior Jackson Nance, Noblesville, also put on a solid performance beating Hot Dog Jimmy Ostler 6-1, 6-1. Zach Greer kept the victories rolling for the Millers winning 6-1, 7-5 against Cameron Swinford.

The two doubles teams were just as impressive for Noblesville. Junior Ben Smith and sophomore Evan Voigt defeated Hot Dogs Dylan Smith and Nick Kinder in three, 7-6, 4-6, 5-3. The final win for the Millers came as the senior duo of Ryan Plummer and Jackson Ramey defeated Noah Wilder and Nolan Varner 6-1, 6-4.

#1 Singles: NHS Jacob Hoffman (JR) DEF FHS Isaac Hunter; 6-0, 6-2

#2 Singles: NHS Jackson Nance (JR) DEF FHS Jimmy Ostler; 6-1, 6-1

#3 Singles: NHS Zach Greer (SO) DEF FHS Cameron Swinford; 6-1, 7-5

#1 Doubles: NHS Ben Smith (JR) & Evan Voigt (SO) DEF FHS Dylan Smith & Nic Kinder; 7-6 (8), 4-6, 5-3

#2 Doubles: NHS Ryan Plummer (SR) & Jackson Ramey (SR) DEF FHS Noah Wilder & Nolan Varner; 6-1, 6-4

Noblesville will be back in action on Thursday as they host the Cathedral Fighting Irish at 4:30 p.m. at Noblesville East Middle School.
