University Trailblazers take down Sheridan Blackhawks
The Lady Trailblazers played a stellar game against Sheridan Tuesday night winning 7-2. Within the first two minutes of the game, junior Kenzie Allen played a ball into sophomore Tessa Hudson for the first goal of the game. A couple of minutes later, University junior Lily Snyder found Hudson again for the second goal. Two more goals were scored by Hudson in the first half. Sheridan eventually got through the Trailblazer defense and the Blackhawks connected for their first goal of the evening at the end of the first half.

At the half, it was 4-1 Trailblazers. Going into the second half, junior Halle Von Ah scored for the Trailblazers as well as Allen. Hudson finished the game with her fifth goal halfway through the second half. The Trailblazers won 7-2.

The Huskies boys soccer team beat the Eastern Comets 4-3 Tuesday night. The Huskies came out a little relaxed and found themselves in a quick 2-0 deficit in the first 10 minutes of the game.

Fishers competed along with HCC opponent Westfield at this weekend's Flashrock Invitational. Fishers had a tight pack of runners crossing the finish line one after the other and placing second overall out of 16 teams with only Hinsdale, Illinois out racing the Tigers.

OUT IN THE OPEN- Driving Dangerous to Outdoor Enthusiasts
It is ironic that outdoors enthusiasts will drive hundreds of miles just to park their vehicle so they can then engage in walking, paddling, floating, riding or climbing for enjoyment. While we sometimes focus on the relatively-small risks of the sports themselves, few people give more than a passing thought to the most statistically dangerous part of most outdoor activities: the drive.

This week's top performer is Guerin Catholic freshman soccer player Quincy McMahon. McMahon has played in all seven of Guerin's varsity games as a freshman and has scored six goals with eight assists. She has helped the Golden Eagles amount to a great start to the season, losing just one of seven games. The team has a conference record of 3-1 and plays next on Saturday. The #1 ranked Westfield Girls Golf team competed at South Grove Golf Course against the Ben Davis Giants on Thursday at South Grove Golf Course. The Lady Rocks got off to a good start and never looked back. The team shot a score of 138 which was good enough for a new team nine hole record.

WESTFIELD, IN-This weekend, September 2-3, the Indiana Fire Juniors are hosting the 3rd annual Grand Park Cup Soccer Tournament for youth soccer teams ages 8U-15U. The event features 343 teams from six states: Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri and Ohio.
