Shamrocks win on controversial call
Westfield sophomore Josh Van Dyke took the inbounds pass with 1.8 seconds to go in the ballgame and made one last shot attempt at the buzzer with his team trailing 58-57. The shot fell well short and the clock expired, however one referee deemed that there was a foul with 0.1 seconds remaining that sent Van Dyke to the line for three shots. The sophomore only needed two as the Westfield Shamrocks boys' basketball team walked away with a rather controversial 59-58 victory over the Fishers Tigers on the road on Thursday night.

Golden Eagles outmatched by Eagles
Arguably the toughest draw of the IHSAA girls' basketball tournament belonged to the Guerin Catholic Golden Eagles. They had to get past the Heritage Christian Eagles, a team that defeated the top team in 4A this season. Unfortunately, the Eagles' talent was too much and they ran away from the Golden Eagles, defeating them 86-36 on Wednesday night.

If not for a few possessions down the stretch, the Hamilton Heights Huskies girls' basketball team might have come away with a shocking upset of the 3A No. 8 ranked Marion Giants. Heights unable to stop Twin Lakes center
Twin Lakes center Dane Holmes stood on the free-throw line with the game in hand. Knocking down two free throws with under one minute to go in the game, Holmes added to his point total, which stood at 29 for the night.

Holmes' impressive performance was just too much for Hamilton Heights to handle as Twin Lakes won 69-61, especially with one of Heights' stars, Hunter Crist, out with an injury.
