Monna Rose (Olds) Childers
March 13, 1943 - Oct. 31, 2012

Monna Rose (Olds) Childers, 69, of Sheridan passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012 at her home. She was born to late Orville L. and Joyce V. Olds, March 13, 1943 in San Francisco.

She graduated from Luce Township High School in 1961. She married James M. Childers on June 21, 1963 and they lived together in Sheridan.

Monna and Jim owned and operated a horse supply business and was a known horse enthusiast. She enjoyed showing and raising quarter horses, while still giving plenty of attention to the care for her beloved dogs. Later in life, she enjoyed attending car shows to show off her vintage 1987 Buick Grand National. Most recently, she was employed at G.W. Pierce Auto Parts as a secretary and head of security.

Monna understood the value of family being raised alongside a large, close Knit set of siblings that included three sisters and two brothers: Ginger (Keith) Wetzel, Rockport, Indiana; Jennie (Robert) Alverson, Danville, Indiana; Tenna (Frank) Watts, Muncie, Indiana; Grant (Cindy) Olds, Edinburg, Indiana and the late Mark Olds of Richland, Indiana.

She is survived by her late husband of 49 years, James Childers of Sheridan, and sons Scott (Anita) Childers and Jason (Julie) Childers both of Sheridan. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Jacob, Audia, Josie and Justin Childers and Jared and Michael McVey.

A Memorial service will be held at the Bible Church in Sheridan on Monday, Nov. 19 where friends and family are invited to gather from 4-6 p.m., with services starting at 6 p.m. Donations may be made to: Mamas Cupboard Inc. 206 E. 2nd St. Sheridan, Indiana. 46069. In memory of Monna Rose Childers.

Fisher Family Funeral Services has been entrusted with Monna arrangement.
