Emma Jean Null, 77, Arcadia, died Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at Miller's Merry Manor at Tipton.

Mrs. Null had first worked at Woods Wire at Carmel. Then for many years, she managed the Sunny Fair Grocery Store at Cicero. Lastly, she worked at Computer Business Services Inc. at Sheridan.

Phyllis Jean McDaniel
Phyllis Jean McDaniel, 89, Indianapolis, died on Sunday, March 22, 2015, at Community Heart & Vascular Hospital in Indianapolis.

Mrs. McDaniel was the owner/operator of Kinder-Dance Kindergartens for more than 40 years. She operated multiple preschools throughout central Indiana. She and her husband were avid square dancers in the United States and internationally for 20 years.

Deanna D. Henderson
Deanna D. Henderson, 74, Sheridan, died surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday afternoon, March 17, 2015, at Harbour Manor Living Center in Noblesville.

Mrs. Henderson worked for many business through the years, including Sheridan Chamber of Commerce for two years and serving 13 years as property manager for Millwood Estates in Sheridan.

Mrs. Henderson was a 43-year member of the Jehovah's Witnesses, being baptized into the church in 1974. She attended Kingdom Hall in Noblesville for many years.

Jack J. Slezak, 84, Noblesville, died on Monday, March 23, 2015, at his home.

For 20 years, Mr. Slezak proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force.

He was a real-estate appraiser in Hamilton County, and later in Florida when he made that his home.

Mr. Slezak was a member of Cicero Seventh-Day Adventist Church, and a former member of the Noblesville Moose.

Belinda D. Booster, 65, Noblesville, died at 11:45 a.m. Monday, March 23, 2015, at Riverview Health in Noblesville.

Mrs. Booster had served as a lay preacher with the United Methodist Church, was a homemaker, and was a former EMT with the Wayne Township Fire Department. She was a member of the Ford Street United Methodist Church in Lapel and was a former member of the Wayne-Fall Lions Club in Durbin.

Golden Lynwood 'Lynnie' Flinchum
Golden Lynwood 'Lynnie' Flinchum, 76, Noblesville, died peacefully on Thursday, March 19, 2015, surrounded by family.

A 62-year resident of Noblesville, Mr. Flinchum graduated from Noblesville High School in 1957.

"Lynnie," as folks knew him, worked for McMahon Food Co. (later Kraft/U.S. Foodservice) for more than 40 years, retiring in 2000. He also owned and operated a Waffle House restaurant from 1983 to 1985, and along with his wife, Linda, owned Lynnie's Style Shop from 1979 to 1985, both in Noblesville.

Mr. Flinchum was an avid golfer, playing regularly in the men's club at Forest Park Golf Course and Fox Prairie Golf Course.

He was a member of Refuge Christian Church. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge in Noblesville since 1962, the Ancient Scottish Rite; and the Elks, Eagles and Moose Lodges in Noblesville.

Howard W. 'Howie' Stehman
Howard W. "Howie" Stehman, 60, Fishers, died on Saturday, March 21, 2015, at Riverview Health in Noblesville.

He was born on Oct. 14, 1954, to Thomas and Marjorie (Stanley) Stehman in Chesterton, England.

"Howie," as most knew him, worked for Sweitzer's Office Supply for more than 25 years before retiring.

Very strong in his faith, he was a member of Cumberland Road Christian Church.

Gleasel S. Harris, 100, Sheridan, died on Thursday, March 19, 2015, in Noblesville.

He born on Feb. 10, 1915, to the late Bernie and Nellie (Martin) Harris in Sheridan.

Mr. Harris first worked for Fear and Campbell Poultry Co. as a manager and a buyer for Pickett's poultry. He was also a fireman, police officer and then street department commissioner for the Town of Sheridan retiring at 75 years of age.

He was a 50-plus-year member of Sheridan Fidelity Lodge 309.

John 'Vic' Duckworth
John "Vic" Duckworth, 82, Westfield, died on Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at his home. He was born on May 10, 1932, to Lonzo and Ruth (Rayer) Duckworth in Newton, Ill.

Mr. Duckworth made his career serving in the U.S. Army, and was a member of the Carmel Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He enjoyed reading and working puzzle books. He was once interviewed by a group doing a school project, and the taped interview is on file in the Library of Congress.

Ralph E. Ginder, 81, Pendleton, died on Wednesday, March 18, 2015.

He was born on May 21, 1933, to John and Rachel (Stottlemeyer) Ginder in Hamilton County.

Mr. Ginder proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.

He retired from Delco-Remy in Anderson in 1988 after 32 years of service, and was a member of Whetstone Christian Church in Anderson.

Mr. Ginder enjoyed fishing, gardening and NCAA basketball, and loved spoiling his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also holds a cross-country record at Fishers High School.

Jack Beaver, 79, Noblesville, died on Sunday, March 15, 2015, at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis.

He was born on March 7, 1936, to Merrell and Mary (Sewell) Beaver in Noblesville.

Mr. Beaver proudly served his country as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Air Force.

He worked as a pipefitter at Firestone Industrial Products for 16 years.

Harry 'Dutch' Nowlin Taylor Jr.
Harry "Dutch" Nowlin Taylor Jr., 86, Fishers, died on Monday, March 16, 2015.

"Dutch," as people knew him, was a U.S. Navy veteran of both World War II and the Korean War, serving as a gunner aboard the Destroyer, USS Lyman K. Swenson.

He was maintenance supervisor at Indiana Farmers Mutual Insurance Group for 33 years until he retired in 1993. He was a charter member of St. Louis de Montfort Catholic Church in Fishers, a member of American Legion Post 470, and also of the Fishers Senior Citizens Euchre Club.

Delbert M. Jones, 85, Tipton, died peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, March 16, 2015.

He was born on Sept. 30, 1929, in Beech Grove, to the late Louis and Pearl (Musgrove) Jones.

Mr. Jones was a farmer and a truck driver for most of his life.

Mr. Jones was a member of Kempton Methodist Episcopal Church.

Wilford "Willie" E. True, 73, Noblesville, died on Monday, March 16, 2015, at his home.

He was born April 29, 1941, at Anderson, to John and Leita (Ridgeway) True.

"Willie," as he was fondly known, had first worked at the Hamilton County Highway Department. He then worked for 26 years at the Indiana Department of Transportation.

Mr. True was a mechanic by trade, and enjoyed working on cars. His family related that he had a servant's heart and loved helping others.

He was a member of Cicero Christian Church.

George E. Wilczek, 77, Indianapolis, died on Sunday, March 15, 2015, surrounded by family and friends, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

Mr. Wilczek was the owner and operator of GMR Associates, a manufacturing rep company.

He was a member of Holy Spirit Parish at Geist Catholic Church and the Noblesville Elks.

He honorably served with the U.S. Army Chemical Corps and Military Advisory Commands in Vietnam and also during the Berlin Crisis (1958-1962).

Grace (Russell) Skidmore, 93, Noblesville, died on Wednesday, March 11, 2015, surrounded by her loving family at Riverwalk Commons of Noblesville.

She was born on Sept. 8, 1921, to Joseph and Louisa Russell in Toronto, Canada, and moved to Speedway in 1947.

Mrs. Skidmore retired from Western Electric and resided in Florida a number of years before returning to Indiana.

James M. "Jim" Vernon, 88, Noblesville, died on Sunday, March 15, 2015, at Riverview Health in Noblesville.

He was born Sept. 8, 1926, to William 'Bill' and Edith (Lehr) Vernon in Clarksville.

Mr. Vernon was a 1944 graduate of Noblesville High School and served in the U.S. Army post World War II.

Before retirement, he was owner and operator of Vernon Oil Co. He was a member of the Scottish Rite, as well as a 50-year-member of Noblesville Masonic Lodge No. 57.

Donald Wayne Basey, 77, died on Sunday, March 15, 2015, at his home in Tipton with his family at his side.

He was born on Dec. 2, 1937 in Tipton, to Ralph and Blanche (Hunt) Basey, who preceded him in death.

Mr. Basey attended the old Independence School, a one-room schoolhouse in Tipton County and later graduated from Tipton High School in 1955.

Mr. Basey went to work at Firestone Industrial Products in Noblesville, where he worked for 35 years before retiring in 2001.

Martha A. Godby, 80, Noblesville, died peacefully on Sunday, March 15, 2015, at Riverview Health in Noblesville.

She was born on Nov. 21, 1934, to Walter Sr. and Alice (Castator) Hoover in Laketon, Ind.

Mrs. Godby attended Marion College, and was a member of Lakeview Wesleyan Church of Noblesville.

She enjoyed sewing and was an exceptional seamstress, doing alterations as a side business. Mrs. Godby was a passionate gardener and especially loved her roses. She was a devoted grandma to her grandkids and active in their activities. Most of all, she loved family time.

Tom Phillips, 81, Noblesville, died on Saturday, March 14, 2015, at his home.

He was born on Sept. 26, 1933, to Lawrence and Sally (Johns) Phillips in Iron City, Tenn.

For 42 years, Mr. Phillips worked at Firestone Industrial Products. He loved fishing with "the boys," and working around the house.

He was born on May 8, 1946, to Milo and Mary (Quear) Booth in Noblesville.

Mr. Booth was a lifelong cattle farmer and was also a Teamsters truck driver for 22 years.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and was a member of the Fishers Masonic Temple.

She was born on Feb. 7, 1927, to William and Elizabeth (Beal) Epp in Noblesville.

She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Noblesville Kiwanis and Extension Homemakers. She enjoyed playing the organ, and would play at retirement centers and social events.

Don O. Moffitt, 78, Carmel, died unexpectedly at home on Friday, March 13, 2015.

He was born on Nov. 26, 1936, in Carmel to the late Maurice and Elsie Pittman Moffitt.

Mr. Moffitt worked as custodian in the Carmel Clay Schools for more than 35 years. He was a sports enthusiast attending all Carmel High School games including basketball, football and swimming.

Beverly W. Hepfer, 83, Anderson, died on Friday, March 13, 2015, at Harbour Manor Nursing Home in Noblesville. She left this earth to be with her loving husband.

She was born on Dec. 28, 1931, in Greenfield, and resided most of her life in Anderson.

She graduated from Mount Vernon High School in Fortville.

Mrs. Hepfer retired from Fort Benjamin Harrison Finance Center as a keypunch operator after 25 years of service.

Dr. Tom Kendall
Former Sheridan resident Dr. Tom Kendall, a Sacramento area veterinarian for more than 42 years, died peacefully in the comfort of his home on Monday, March 2, 2015 after being diagnosed with Stage IV pancreatic cancer in November 2014.

Dr. Kendall was originally from Sheridan, and received his doctor of veterinary medicine from Purdue University in 1969. Shortly after, he and his wife, Dianne, moved to California.

Marie Durr, 91, Sheridan, died on Tuesday, March 10, 2015, surrounded by her loving family at Wellbrooke of Westfield.

She lived most of her life in Sheridan. She graduated from Sheridan High School and attended Indiana Business College.

From 1974 until 2008, Mrs. Durr worked at Sheridan Public Library, primarily in the children's section for several years before her retirement. She was a member of the Progress Club and the Sheridan First Christian Church.

She was born July 4, 1931, in LaGrange County to Homer Riley and Lela Vera (Fritz) Rasler.

She lived in Noble County for 27 years, DeKalb County for nine years, and formerly in the Noblesville area for 29 years.

Mrs. Stewart retired from Bostwick in Kendallville.

She was a member of the ladies auxiliary of Kendallville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2749.

Mrs. Landes worked at the Walnut Grove School Cafeteria and later at the Best Lock Co. at Indianapolis.

She was a member of Arcadia Church of the Brethren, the Women's Fellowship, and had served as a deaconess at the church. She had also been active with the Tri-Town Senior Citizens.

Daniel J. Keefer, 60, Fishers, died on Monday, March 9, 2015, at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis.

Mr. Keefer earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business from Indiana University in 1984. For 23 years, he was a field economist for the U.S. Department of Labor. He then worked for the Indiana Division of the Federal Highway Administration, retiring this year.

He was a member of St. Louis de Montfort Catholic Church.

Mr. Keefer was a cherished neighbor and friend, and loved his time with family at their lake house, and enjoyed fishing.

Timothy L. Masters
Timothy L. Masters, 61, Cicero and formerly of Elwood, died peacefully on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Riverview Health in Noblesville following complications from diabetes.

He was born Aug. 18, 1953, in Elwood, one of twin sons of Robert L. and Mary Maxine (Marley) Masters.

Mr. Masters retired from Delphi Division of General Motors in Kokomo in 2006 after 31 years in production and repair.

He was raised in the First Baptist Church in Elwood, and graduated in 1973 from Tipton High School.

Tim was proud to be the 1967 Soapbox Derby Champion in Kokomo.

Patricia Colleen Faith Beard Dunlavey, 87, Sheridan, died on Friday, March 6, 2015.

She was born March 7, 1927, to Fred and Bessie Beard, also of Sheridan. They preceded her in death.

She graduated from Sheridan High School in 1946 and was married to Donald W. Dunlavey for 50 years. He preceded her in death in 1997.

She was a member of the First Christian Church and the Symposium Club of Sheridan.

Mrs. Thacker graduated from Muncie Southside High School.

She is a retired homemaker.

Mrs. Thacker was a member of Member Second Chance Baptist Church in Anderson where she was a devoted Christian.

He loved to travel, "chase" genealogy clues and help others. He was co-founder of F.U.S.E., teaching others to safely use firearms.

Mr. Breyer was an active member of the Morse Pointe Homeowners Association Board.

He was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Carmel.

He served in the Army National Guard for several years, as a police reserve officer and as an amateur radio enthusiast.

Mr. Johnson graduated from Hamilton Southeastern High School in 1981 and served as a Seabee in the U. S. Navy.

Mr. Johnson was a member of the Madison County Emergency Management Agency, and he volunteered for Habitat for Humanity.

Loral H. Mahan, 97, Indianapolis, died on Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at Rittenhouse Senior Living of Indianapolis.

He was born on Sept. 18, 1917, to Loral and Flossie (Ruffner) Mahan in Anderson.

Mr. Mahan was a World War II veteran in the European Theater, where he was a Motor Pool staff sergeant in the Combat Engineers; he was awarded the American Theater Ribbon, two Bronze Stars and the World War II Victory Medal.

He retired from Railway Express Agency (REA) after 35 years, where he had been a delivery services supervisor; was a lifetime member of Bellaire United Methodist Church in Indianapolis; and was a 25-year member of Central Indiana Bicycling Association (CIBA), where he completed 22 Hilly Hundred bicycle events.

Christy M. (Humphrey) Halverson, 40, died on Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at the Visiting Nurse Hospice Home in Fort Wayne, following an extended illness.

She was born Oct. 8, 1974, in Noblesville, to Michael and Rose Ann (Dewitt) Humphrey and has lived in the Alexandria area since 2009.

Mrs. Halverson was a certified nursing assistant and had worked at several healthcare facilities including Riverwalk Village in Noblesville. She more recently had worked at Meijer in Noblesville.

She was a former member of the Lighthouse Fellowship Church of God in Noblesville and more recently of the Fairmount Church of God.

She was licensed in massage therapy and received her certification from Alexandria School of Scientific Therapeutics. She was excited and in the process of launching her own business, Cute as a Button, designing and creating handmade boutique items for her online shop on Etsy Marketplace.

She loved to travel the world, making many trips abroad. Mrs. Auger also enjoyed bowling and golf, was an avid reader, and loved watching old movies. She was a very fashionable and well-dressed lady.
