Sheriff’s Office Crash Team Investigating Fatal Crash at 276th Street, Devaney Road

On Monday May 16th, 2022, at approximately 4 p.m., deputies from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office responded to a personal injury accident at 276th Street and Devaney Road. The crash was reported to involve a vehicle and a motorcycle. While at the scene, deputies were made aware that CPR was being performed on the injured party. The injured party was later pronounced deceased by paramedics on scene.

The deceased driver of the motorcycle was identified as 45-year-old white male Jeremy Chris of Atlanta, IN. The investigation is continuing and being led by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Crash Team.

The roadway was closed from 4 p.m. to 5:52 p.m. for the duration of the on-scene investigation. The initial investigation showed a red in color Chevrolet Silverado pickup was westbound on 276th Street and turning left onto southbound Devaney Road.

 This maneuver brought the truck turning left, into the path of the silver in color Suzuki motorcycle that was traveling eastbound on 276th St. Both vehicles collided in the intersection.
