In a move that marks the culmination of a long and successful career lasting more than 50 years, Terry Lee has just announced his retirement from the car business, along with the sale of both Terry Lee Hyundai, and Genesis of Noblesville to Penske Automotive Group (PAG).

The sale, which closed on Monday, May 2, 2022, has been described as a ‘win-win’ by Lee, as PAG possesses a rare combination of competence, capacity and economies of scale that are compatible with the business approach already practiced by the two dealerships. “I’ve known Roger Penske for many years, and I believe this is a perfect fit as his company reflects the views, values and philosophies that have made our organization what it is today,” explains Lee. “In other words, happy employees make for even happier customers.”

Lee’s career began at the age of 21 as finance manager for a well-known Indianapolis automotive retailer. Since that time, he has held every job in the car business, eventually rising to ownership positions at five different dealerships in the region.

This transaction, advised by The Presidio Group of Denver, Colorado, follows a record sales year for Lee and his dedicated team, in spite of nationwide vehicle shortages and supply chain difficulties.

Lee plans to remain active in commercial real estate by offering sales and leasing opportunities at his 72 acre development, Terry Lee Crossing, on Highway 37 in Noblesville.

He also intends to work tirelessly at lowering his golf handicap to single digits.
