Make it eight straight for the Lady Huskies.

Hamilton Heights squeaked out a hard fought 52-47 victory over the Lafayette Central Catholic Knights at home Friday night.

Bayleigh Runner led the Huskies in scoring with 12 points, as Heights completed a perfect 3-0 sweep in its games this week.

The first went back-and-forth with both sides holding the other off the scoreboard for most of the quarter. The Knights went into halftime holding a 25-23 lead.

The Huskies weren’t going to let their win streak end, though. Heights pushed back in the third, taking a three-point edge into the final quarter. The Huskies were able to keep the Knights at bay in the final eight minutes, outscoring them by two, and held on for the win.

Lexi Branham and Lauryn Wiley joined Runner in double-figures with 10 points each, and Kayla Kirtley added seven. Runner scored nine of her team-high 12 in the second half. Payton Dissett chipped in with five points and Ana Collar scored five of her eight points in the second half.

The Huskies (15-6, 3-1) haven’t lost a contest since Dec. 28, when they fell at East Central. Hamilton Heights will look to make it nine in a row Wednesday when they host Frankfort. The Hot Dogs are currently 3-16 on the season and 1-7 on the road. Frankfort is on a seven-game losing streak and hasn’t won since Dec. 14.
