In Cicero, the annual Lights over Morse Lake Festival is ready to kick off tomorrow and will be celebrated through Sunday.?On Friday, Dan’s Fish Fry, handled by Cicero United Methodist Church, will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Red Bridge Park (curbside drive-through only).?On Saturday, a Decorate Your Golf Cart Contest in a “Patriotic” theme is at 10 a.m., with registration at 9:30 a.m., at Hamilton North Public Library Cicero Pavilion. The July 4 parade steps off at 11 a.m. in downtown Cicero, with lineup at 10 a.m. Parade route travels east on Brinton Road, north on Washington Avenue, east on Buckeye Street, north on Byron Street, west on Jackson Street and south on Pearl Street returning to the library. Cicero Christian Church hospitality tent is open 1 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at Community Park. Food and craft vendors are open all day at Cicero Community Park, Red Bridge Park and Main Street/Buckeye Street. The Huesman Carnival is 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Community Park, with unlimited rides wristband at $20 per day (save $3 on wristband with coupon at www.lightsovermorselake.org/. A Wesleyan Church Family Free Fair will be 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at United Family Wesleyan Church, 210 Washington Ave., with free hot dogs, soda and water. Second Chance Band will perform 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Community Park stage. Fireworks will feature a live broadcast 105 Wave and will be displayed over Morse Lake at 10 p.m.
On Sunday, the food and craft vendors and the carnival continue. A Golf Cart Poker Run is at 1 p.m. begins and ends at the library. Friends of the Park Bingo is 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Community Park Shelter House. Lemon Wheel will perform in concert from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Community Park.?Festival T-shirts, which will be available at the festival, will become a part of history as Cicero will be one of the few communities that are still having fireworks in 2020.?Also, save the date for Lights Over Morse Lake’s Boat Poker Run at 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 25, with registration beginning at 10 a.m. at Morse Lake Marina.
