Mary (Albright) Prater, 95, of Anderson, went home to be with the Lord on the morning of Thursday, Dec. 7, 2017 in her home.

She was born May 13, 1922, in Arcadia, a daughter of the late Morton and Kittie (Albright) Allen.

She was a 1940 graduate of Arcadia High School. For several years she worked at Stanley Access Systems in Indianapolis and also in physical therapy at Turtle Creek Nursing Home in Anderson. She faithfully attended Grace Holiness Church for over 33 years. She enjoyed playing piano and organ and Search-A-Word Puzzles. She married the love of her life, Norman Prater, Nov. 25, 1956, and together they cared for many children in their time of need.

Survivors include her loving husband of 61 years, Norman W. Prater, Sr.; children, David (Myrna) Hiatt of Anderson, GaLynne (Hugh) Millard of Vanderhoof, British Columbia, Richard (Holly) Hiatt of Mason, Wisc., Norman (Evelyn) Prater Jr, of Linton, Carl Prater of Ocala, Fla., and Crystal (Daniel) Hopkins of Anderson; 12 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three children, Jayne Ann Prater, James Allen Prater and an infant daughter; a sister, Helen Rich and four brothers, Keith, Kenneth, Kendall and Robert Albright.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 11, 2017, at Grace Holiness Church, 3325 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Anderson, with Pastor Tim Wiford and Rev. Buddy Perry officiating. Burial will follow in Cicero Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, 2017, at Grace Holiness Church.
