A change in the United States Postal Service's holiday schedule will affect The Times’ subscribers.

Veterans Day is Saturday. When a holiday falls on the weekend, it is observed by the federal government on either Friday or Monday. The USPS schedule originally reflected that and indicated there would be no mail service on Friday in observance of Veterans Day. The schedule has since changed and mail service will now be suspended on the actual holiday — Saturday.

Dave Partenheimer, manager of public relations for the USPS in Washington, D.C., said he has received a number of calls and understands the confusion.

"For this year, there will be delivery on Friday and the post office will be open," Partenheimer said. There will be no delivery and the post office will be closed Saturday, Partenheimer said.
