The Fishers Police Department is conducting an investigation after students at Fall Creek Junior High School reported a threat on social media. It is believed the person responsible for the threat is a student at the junior high, but according to police the student was not in attendance today.
As a precaution police, in partnership with Hamilton Southeastern school administrators, made the decision to delay dismissal at the schools in the immediate area while officers searched for the suspect.
Dismissal was authorized once the area was deemed safe and officers were present at each school. Regular dismissal was delayed by approximately 30 minutes.
The schools affected by this incident were Fall Creek Elementary, Fall Creek Intermediate, Fall Creek Junior High and Hamilton Southeastern High School.
Police said they were continuing the search for the suspect as of approximately 4 p.m.
