Last month, four Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Corrections Officers utilized bravery, training, and skill to save the life of an inmate in the Hamilton County Jail. Officers Pyle, Whaley, Dunn, and Sergeant Rairdon responded to an inmate who was having a medical emergency within the jail. The inmate was located and was not breathing and unconscious.
Using a department issued AED, CPR and teamwork, these officers were able to revive the inmate and save that individuals life.
Sheriff Quakenbush stated, “I’m extremely proud of the professional men and women who make up our corrections staff. These heroes are dedicated to the safety and security of the jail and were able to quickly put their training to use to save a life.”
The Hamilton County Jail Commander Josh Carey and Sheriff Dennis Quakenbush awarded these officers with lifesaving awards.
First aid, CPR and AED are mandatory trainings provided to every corrections officer within our jail division.
