Ruby Katherine Barker, 95, of Spiceland passed away peacefully in her home Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017.

She was born on March 10, 1922 in Westfield, to the late Ernest W. and Dorotha (Repass) Davis.

Her greatest desire was to serve the Lord, as a pastor’s wife to her late husband, Edwin.  Together they served several Friends Meetings in Central Indiana, including Westland Friends, Anderson Friends, Hemlock Friends, and assistant pastor of Spiceland Friends, of which she has been a member since 1976.  She was a 1940 graduate of Carmel High School and attended Asbury College in Wilmore, Ky.  She enjoyed serving and flower gardening.

Survivors include her son, David (Karla) Barker of Farmington, N.H.; grandson, William Barker of Farmington, N.H.; brother, Victor (Jackie) Davis of Noblesville; sister, Vera Young of Alabama; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Barker; brother, Myron Kenneth Davis; brother-in-law, Morris Barker and Lee Young; sisters-in-law, Ruth Null and Martha Robinette.

Services are scheduled for noon Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017, at Spiceland Friends Meeting with David Brock and Cathy Harris officiating.  Burial will follow in Circle Grove Cemetery.  Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. Tuesday prior to the service.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Spiceland Friends Meeting or to a charity of choice.
