CARMEL – Due to a high volume of interest from skaters at Carmel’s new outdoor ice skating rink, the Ice at Center Green has announced it is expanding its hours and skating days over the new few weeks, beginning the day after Christmas.

Normally closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, the City of Carmel has decided to open the Ice on Tuesday, December 26, and remain open every day of the week from December 26th through January 7 – including extended hours until 1 a.m. on New Year’s Eve and opening on New Year’s Day.  Daily ice skating will begin at 12:30 p.m. and remain open until 10 p.m. during this time. Skate session fees will follow the weekend rate schedule: 90-minute sessions are $9 for adults, $6 for kids age 10 and under; with all skate rentals $3 each.

“With so many students on break over the next few weeks, we wanted to make our popular ice rink available to them and to the many visitors who come to central Indiana this time of the year,” said Carmel Mayor Jim Brainard. “There is nothing like a few hours of ice skating under the warm glow of the Palladium to give families and friends a special opportunity to bond.”

In addition, the Ice at Center Green also plans to be open on Mondays during a pair of three-day weekends – January 15 (Martin Luther King Jr. Day) and on February 19 (President’s Day).
