Jarilyn Louise Purvis, age 65, of Westfield, formerly of Sheridan, passed away Monday morning, April 3, 2017, at Maple Park Village in Westfield.

Born Dec. 31, 1951, in Tipton, she was the daughter of the late Robert Eugene and Betty Jean (Waters) Waggoner.

She was a 1970 graduate of Clinton Central High School and for many years, worked at Railer's IGA as a chicken fryer. She enjoyed crafting and loved doing yard work and tending to her flowers. The thing she enjoyed most however, was spending time with her family. For countless years she followed her daughter's activities in band and guard. When grandchildren entered into her life, she got to start all over again. That gave her a thrill beyond words.

Survivors include her three daughters, Angie Purvis-Dishmon of Arcadia, Tonia Purvis-Brown (Tim) of Indianapolis, and Teresa Ham of Indianapolis; 2 grandchildren, Corbin and Kailyn Dishmon; her brother, Robert Waggoner, Jr. (Karol) of Frankfort; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and by the love of her life, Terry Allen Purvis on June 17, 2006. She and Terry were married on Dec. 12, 1975.

Services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday, April 7, 2017, at Kercheval Funeral Home, 306 E. 10th St., Sheridan, with visitation scheduled from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Spencer Cemetery in Sheridan. Pastor Laura Caitlin will be officiating.
