Marian P. Farrell, 89, of Zionsville, passed away March 2, 2017.

She was born on Dec. 22, 1927, in Peoria, Ill., to Robert and Lola Allton Prewett.

She was a 1946 graduate of Peoria High School and attended Bradley University. She was a member of the Sigma Kappa Sorority and was the Dream Girl of Theta Chi Fraternity.

She was gifted in, and had a passion for, writing. Her writings included more than 300 poems and stories which many were published in the Indianapolis Star and Zionsville Times. She worked as secretary-treasurer of J.M. Farrell Co. Contractors. She also volunteered for a number of years at the Zionsville Police Department.

Survivors include her husband, John; daughter, Renna; son, Daniel (Marie); 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jimmy Prewett.

Family and friends are scheduled to gather at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 11, 2017, in Zionsville United Methodist Church where the funeral service is scheduled to begin at noon. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery, Zionsville.
