Delorice M. “Dee” Barbee, 79, Perkinsville, passed away Monday, June 10, 2019, at her home following an extended illness.
She was born on Dec. 17, 1939, in Indianapolis to Lawrence Edward and Velma Roberta (Seward) Durham.
Mrs. Barbee retired in 1994 from the former Thompson Consumer Electronics/RCA in Marion after 28 years of employment. She was an avid reader and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also loved her fur babies sally, sassy, and little bit.
Survivors include two children, Rhonda (Greg) Perkins and Leroy Barbee; 10 grandchildren, Brandon Smith, David (Katie) Heiny, Corbin (Agie) Barbee, Josh Barbee, Courtney Perkins, Becky Perkins, Greg “Bubba” Perkins, Heather Bryant, Travis Barbee (Bridgett Harshman), and Cierra Barbee (Justin Kinzie); and one sister, Mary Noel (Ted Rittenhouse). eight great grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Leroy; three sons, Ricky, Rocky, and William; one daughter-in-law, Beth; and two sisters.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel. Family and friends may pay their respects from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
