Lee Roy Inness, 87, of Noblesville, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at Riverwalk Village in Noblesville.
He was born on Feb. 11, 1932 to Everett and Glenda (Simmington) Inness in Randolph County, Ark.
For 34 1/2 years, Mr. Inness worked for Firestone as a server and forklift driver, retiring in 1986. He then worked for Burco Molding Co and retired in 1996. Mr. Inness married Velma Lafern Burrow on Jan. 26, 1950. They enjoyed traveling with family and also enjoyed going to Gospel concerts. In his earlier days, he loved to roller skate and was a member of a CB club where his handle was “Scrubber Man”. He enjoyed woodworking, working on cars, bowling, flowers, and planting trees. Mr. Inness loved his family dearly and cherished spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially at Easter.
Survivors include his daughters, Madonna L. (Jesse) Johnson and Letitia "Tish" (John) Hernandez; brother, Art Inness; sisters, Mary Belle Tanner, Evelyn Dirks, and Joyce Counts; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Inness was preceded in death by his wife, Lafern (Burrow) Inness; daughter, Mary Pierce; sister, Katherine Artz; and brother-in-law, Don Burrow.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, June 14 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home in Noblesville with Pastor Bryan Marler officiating. Burial will follow at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville. Family and friends may pay their respects from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 13 at the funeral home.
